Well... what a 4th

First, I'd like to say that I'm not used to tons of fireworks going off in my neighborhood. In Washington, fireworks are illegal, but obviously not here in Wentzville. Our neighbors have been setting them off for quite a while now; big ones too. Anyways, I caught about five seconds of the city's fireworks from the front window. Woo hoo... five seconds, ha.

Anyways, it's been quite a fourth of July this year. I went to the Lake with Jarrod's family, as usual, on Friday. We went out on the boat a few times, took the wave runner out once, and I hopefully gained back a little weight throughout this weekend. And I didn't get sunburned! However... I did get something else, and at this point I think I would trade it for a sunburn.

I got bit by something. I think this something bit me Friday night. Saturday I started to notice a few mosquito bites on myself. I have a couple on my arms, a few on my legs, a few on some of my little toes (they always go after my toes. what the crap?) and one right above my ankle on my leg. And it hurt. Well, it ached Saturday, hurt a little more Sunday, and then overnight and this morning it hurt so bad I was unable to walk on it. I called the pulmonary doctor on call to see if this was some crazy side effect to a medicine I started. It wasn't, it was probably a bite. We came home early from the Lake today to go to UrgentCare, where the doctor said it looked like a bite that is infected, which is kind of what the pulmonologist suspected. I was prescribed an antibiotic to help take away the infection.

So, here I am getting ready for bed now. My foot hurts again... a lot. The pain subsided a little earlier this evening, but now it's back. And, moreover, the red spot on my leg has grown. I've been elevating my leg and applied a cold compress, but to no avail. I took my first dose of the antibiotic, but obviously that's not going to do much right now.

Like I said, I think I'd trade this for a sunburn. A sunburn sounds more appealing right now than a strange infection going on under your skin that hurts so bad you can't even walk... I'm not sure that I'm
going to make it to work tomorrow either. I was able to walk a little today, but tonight it's hurting again, and if I wake up like I feel right now, there is no way I'll be able to walk. I'm sure walking and
putting pressure and weight on it isn't helping either.
