Prayer Shawls

Our church started a prayer shawl ministry about two months ago and they have already handed out shawls which have brought comfort to their recipients. I enjoy crocheting, but I can only crochet myself so many throw blankets before they're overtaking the house. I'm sure Jarrod would argue we already have too many, between the ones I've made, received, and bought. So this is the perfect way to crochet for a purpose.

Anyways, I finished my first one! It is a simple stitch pattern that I made up thinking Oh this might look good. I think it creates a nice look. I need to drop it off at the rectory, and while I'm there I want to talk with them more about the ministry to find out who is heading this operation because I have some ideas about making the shawls just a little bit more special when they're given out.

I have another shawl I've been working on, have started a new one, and have plenty of yarn for many more.

It's a simple combination of 1 chain, 1 double, and so on.
