Good News, Bad News

I had a doctor's appointment today, due to my illness. I felt it best, as did my doctor, to go see her today so we could do the PFT and she could listen to my airways to get a clearer picture of where we're at sick-wise.

And I got some good news, and bad news.

The good news is I'll get to go to the wedding this weekend...

The bad news is I'll go into the hospital immediately after on Monday.

So yeah, that's just how it is. I'm glad it worked out this way, but I'm also very ready to feel better. If at any point I get worse or change my mind, I just need to call them and I can come in sooner.

In other newsy news, we have baby bunnies in our yard! I am checking on them every morning just to make sure their mother is still coming back (and didn't, like, get hit by a car or something...) Yes, that's okay to do; I looked it up and the whole 'Oh no! Now the mother won't come back to her nest and she'll abandon her babies because it smells like humans!' is a myth. I'm assuming that this myth was born out of the fact that rabbits don't spend much time on their nests. As I also found out in doing a little research, they only stop by once or twice a day to nurse their baby bunnies so as not to attract too much attention to the nest. So even though most people assume that mother rabbits abandon their nests frequently, in reality it's probably not the case because you're just not noticing the 10 minutes out of the day she's actually there. So as long as the babies are warm and seem to be growing, the mother is still around. If I ever find the baby bunnies are cold and not moving much, then it's time to call someone. I'm actually sitting outside right now as I type, hoping to see her stop by. Supposedly she'll come by around dawn and dusk.

Anyways, they are the cutest darn things! They are so teeny tiny and don't even have their eyes open. I really hope they make it. The nest is in a hole in our yard, so as they get bigger I wonder how well they're going to stay concealed.

We discovered them after Jarrod was cutting grass. Right after we returned from our cruise, I noticed this huge divot in the yard. It kept growing. Then two days before we discovered the rabbits, I saw FOUR rabbits in the yard. Holy cow. Then on Saturday Jarrod cut the grass, and when he looked back he saw some rabbit fur (which they use in their nests) but then he saw the fluff was moving so he checked it out, and sure enough there were teeny little bunnies down there. They're hidden under 2-3ish inches of fur and grass, and I think there are three of them, maybe four. Thank goodness they stayed put and didn't run out with the noise of the lawn mower! Ah—that would have been dreadful!

I told Jarrod he needs to check on my bunnies while I'm in the hospital. They might be there for another two weeks or so, so I hope I'm home to see them one last time!
The day I discovered the nest.
